Times was simply plain I they'd eventually change
Let's take a down memory lane
the game talker, native new yorker
Gators on my feet, formerly walker
Yes love, how it was before
When you was funky fresh or by law
Parlay with crew at the corner store
Carrying a boom box 'til your arms sore
We be on the corner free stylin'
Or politickin' doe we see piling
Or either girls we be getting with, how we be it
Lying skins that we didn't get
Slow moving at paces the rat races
The look and fat laces
moves any type of way
I remember it yesterday, hey

to you
That's how it was
When you was funky or down by law
Way back in the days how we to do
Thank you for the times y'all

Dj? vu, ain't nothing new
make me think how we used to do
When you be sleeping, if you plan on keeping
Hold of your sheepskin, heads do be
Think it happen to you, now could it?
Came to school wearing went home barefooted
And on the weekends when click
To slide to the deuce to karate flicks
Come back around the way dark
So the crew embark on the jam in the park
What would that night, was to scrap in a fight
Only way to break it up was playing rappers
And as I sit watching you
Shorties out there doing you got to do
I feel for you sincere
Cause you trying to go I already been there, yeah

Ain't nothing but I got to give
I don't hate cause we all got to live
That lifestyle I prohibit
Good life I got to live it, I got to sip it
Now I'll admit that I of be flashing
But yet and I do it in an orderly fashion
Bring on the honeys and watch me mack these, cheese
Go on with your bad self, caes
Just the game got the stakes set high
from bed stuy, the return of the jedi
With a jewel cause I'm tired of
Charges being up, on brothers getting caught up
Now it's time we connect, organize and collect
A new wold order's in
I send out to the shorties in the hood
I see you all live good
