Could spit men on his spear.
A creature, both sober and soused
Was Abulbul Amir.

When they needed a man to the van,
Or to the foe from the rear,
Or to storm a redoubt, they had only to
For Abulbul Amir.

There are heroes aplenty and men to fame
In the troops that were led by the
But the bravest of these was a man by the
Of Ivan Skivar.

He could imitate Irving, play Euchre and
And on the Spanish Guitar.
In fact, quite the cream of the team
Was Skavinsky Skivar.

The ladies all loved him, his rivals were
He could drink them all the bar.
As gallant or tank, was no one to rank

One day this bold had shouldered his gun
And donned his most truculent

And great came, so great was the fame
of Abdul and Skivar.

As Abdul's long was extracting the life -
In fact, he was "Huzzah!" - -
He himself struck by that wily Kalmuck,

He arrived just in time to a last line

A loud-sounding from the Danube was heard
Resounding o'er afar;
It came from the fitting close to the back
Of Skavinsky Skovar.

There's a tomb up where the blue Danube flows;
Engraved in characters clear;
"Ah stranger, when passing, please pray for the
Of Abdul Amir."

A maiden her lone vigil keeps,
the light of the pale polar star;
And the that she murmurs as oft as she weeps
Is Skavinsky Skivar.
