There Simmer unfald her robes,
And there the langest
For I took the last Fareweel
O'my sweet Mary.
How bloom'd the gay, green birk,
How the hawthorn's blossom;
As underneath fragrant shade,
I her to my bosom!
The golden Hours, on wings,
Flew me and my Dearie;
For to me as light and life

Wi' a vow, and lock'd embrace,
