Once I was a maiden,
But now I am a spent, widow,
My strongly plowing the waves
the hills and far away.

He is my hero, my darling,
He is my caesar, a gallant
I've found neither nor fortune
my gallant darling went far away.

Every day I am enduring grief,
Weeping nitterly and tears,
my lively lad has left me
And no news is of him - alas!

The cuckoo does not sing cheerfully at
And the sound of hounds is not heard in nut-tree
Nor summer in misty glen
Since my boy went away from me.

Noble, proud horseman,
Youth without gloom, of countenance,
A swift-moving fist, in a fight,
Slaying the enemy and the strong.

Let a be played on musical harps,
And let many quarts be on the table,
With high spirit, without fault, gloom,
That my lion may long life and health.

Gallant for a while under sorrow,
And completely under black cloacks,
I found neither rest nor fortune
Since my darling went far away
